Things to smile about this week:
1. Going to see Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows: Part 1 tomorrow. That’s right people. My name is Nell and I’m a Harry Potter nut. A serious nut in fact. Luckily I have a partner in crime in this passion. My Mum. We’ve both read all the books about 6 times, we stood in line at
midnight to buy them and I booked our tickets to see the film about 2 months ago. I can’t tell you how excited I am.

2. The prospect of getting to meet our newest nephew on Sunday. We’re heading off on a little day trip with B’s parents so I’ve been busy knitting up some treats for him.

3. Seeing the Coca Cola “Holidays are Coming” advert on Tuesday evening. Yes, I know it only reflects the commercial side of Christmas, but I can’t help but freak out when I see it. A text conversation ensued between my sister and I exclaiming how awesome it was. Thank goodness there’s someone else out there as lame as me.

4. Receiving two lovely emails from the two lovely ladies who received my letters at the beginning of the week. They made my day, proving this letter writing malarkey is totally worth it.

5. And it may be a bit soppy but you know what, the royal engagement made me smile too. B’s far more cynical about the whole thing and thinks it’s only been announced to butter everyone up before yet another week of budget cut announcements, but I can’t help it. It’s the old romantic in me. Plus I can’t get over how big and bouncy Kate’s hair is. Sod being the future Queen of England, I just want her hairdresser please.

  1. Enjoy HP! We'll probably see it when the crowds die down so no spoilers please :D I too am fascinated by this royal engagement but Mr. G (who is a Brit) just rolls his eyes! It looks like we still have weddings on the brain afterall :D

I'm excited for you about Harry Potter and meeting your nephew...babies are so sweet :) and then yay the holidays are coming and I'm with you on that one, it's the best time of the year, I love it. Lastly, I was really excited too for Williams and Kate, I don't know, they look really cute together and somehow a normal solid couple...

  4. Yay! I absolutely cannot wait to see HP. Of course, I am working all weekend, so I'm just going to have to be patient! I was also very excited about the Royal engagement, poor Kate must be just sighing in relief after 8 years! I secretly wish I was in England right now to soak up all the romance, it just isn't the same here in Australia!

  5. I hope you love Harry ... my friends went to the midnight session and LOVED it.
My Hubbie is from England and when I told him that their was a Royal engagement he laughed and said "as if anyone really cares" Well ... I personally am looking forward to getting my hands on a Royal Wedding plate or teaspoon ... and I have no doubt that I am not the only one! Have a great weekend!!!!

  7. Ooh, Harry Potter! I've fallen behind and haven't watched the last two movies. I must remedy that so I can see this one on the big screen.

Letters in the mail are such a pleasure! Nothing better than a handwritten note.

Wills and Kate - I think the news is lovely. They seem so perfect together. I too couldn't get past how great her hair looked and how slim she was in that gorgeous dress. Can you imagine how she must feel now? "One day, I'm going to be the Queen of England." How surreal.

I hope you get to meet your nephew! Babies are the best. Have a great weekend, Nell.
