While sweet cotton rompers are at the top of my list clothes-wise, warm knits are a must when you live in the UK. In the middle of summer you can wake up to pouring rain and cold temperatures, so snuggly jumpers and cardigans really are essential.

British clothing company Joules recently sent us some amazing pieces for both Baby and Josephine to road test, and this sweet cable knit cardigan is perfect for a boy or girl. I'm really drawn to muted, earthy tones for this baby, so this is ideal.

I could have chosen so many things from the baby section of the shop; sweet welly boots for girls and classic dungarees for boys, plus i'd actually already got these booties in store (and adore the delicate floral print of the girl's version too), which are so lovely.

With quality fabrics and quirky details and prints, Joules has something for everyone, and I was pretty tempted by this dress and this blouse for when the bump has gone and Baby has arrived. Stay tuned for possibly my favourite ever skirt on Josephine, plus a raincoat she wore indoors for hours on the day it arrived in the post. Great pieces from a lovely shop :)

  1. I feel very pleased with myself after reading this, because I bought BOTH a white knit romper AND a pair of joules wellies before in expectation of moving to UK.

Are you waiting to see if the baby is a boy or girl? We did that with our Afon and loved it. Plus, the unisex baby clothes are so much sweeter and softer-looking to me. I wanted an abundance of lambs and natural fiber!

Where do you purchase your yarn for knitting? I need to embark on a few projects as soon as my crocheting things arrive from the States! (And I would even really love to learn how to spin my own!)

    1. Love the surprise of not knowing what we're having too Christie - it's one of life's true surprises :) And I agree about unisex clothing - I'm really not a fan of baby pink and baby blue!

I actually buy my wool at a little independent wool store in Bath, where we live. Good luck with all the new projects - and especially if you spin your own yarn - so exciting!
