Bump Day. 36 weeks (and 1 day) down.

Le Bump a la Christmas. The first few days of Maternity Leave have been pretty busy, but in the best of ways. Yesterday we had a midwife appointment with our favourite lady Rose, who always leaves us feeling positive and full of beans. She makes you feel like your baby is the most important and that she's as excited as us, which is lovely and quite a feat considering she's been delivering babies for 30 years. We then spent the evening wrapping presents with pretty ribbons and paper.

Today we had our First 10 Days ante-natal class where we found out more about breastfeeding (I feel like we're so much more prepared now for what to expect) and met a couple who live 2 minutes from us, are expecting their first baby in a week and who both B and I genuinely hit if off with. We always hoped we would meet some new friends during this journey, so we exchanged numbers and plan to catch up when our babies are born. We left feeling on a real high.

So tomorrow? Coby's nativity play (he's the Innkeeper) and then I'm off to buy all the goodies for our hospital bag. Any suggestions from all those Mamas out there are more than welcome...

  1. Hello busy lady. Snap ... I have that cardigan! Although I changed all the buttons for multi-coloured ones to match the embroidery. Glad you're having lots of lovely days. Are you free for a brew next week? Mrs B x

  2. Hi there belly bump, you are growing like crazy every week! Tick tock tick tock, it's almost time to pop out and show us who you are (boy or girl, wheeeee the excitment!). As for the hospital bag, I really didn't take much aside from the essentials. My only must-have was the breastfeeding pillow - I wouldn't have managed without it! xx

  3. Such a beautiful time in your life- so many things to look forward to!
The only hospital bag advice I have is snacks for your husband- you might not be feeling like them, but he probably will. my xx

  4. Hospital bag.. Lots of snacks, I was staaaarving after the birth and there wasn't much food around, plus breastfeeding makes you super hungry - I ate a whole packet of biscuits at 2am once. A notebook and pen to jot down all your questions and log breastfeeds - that's if they're always asking about feeds like they did in my hospital and I just looked at them blankly. And tops that open all the way down the front for breastfeeding - you'll be able to master the more discreet couple of buttons thing later on, but probably not at first (if you're anything like me). And stretchy wraps for bebe, awesome for swaddling.
So exciting, you look great! xo

  12. Ah stupid blogger. Things I needed: hair bands, lip balm, undies, tea bags, water bottle. But I'm probably the most disorganised person in the world so hardly any of the above things actually made it in my bag! It is so close now I can smell it! xx
