A black hooded raincoat that keeps me dry and has a hood that actually stays up, ideal when pushing a pram leaves no room for umbrellas. I've come to accept a frizzy fringe.

Jogging bottoms in a dark colour that dry quickly, have a drawstring waistband that leaves room for a still slightly rounded tummy and allow me to crawl around on the floor and wipe bogeys and dribble on my legs without leaving a stain. That's Josephine's bogeys, just to be clear.

Battered old Converse. Sturdy, grippy and already filthy so who cares about the brown mark that muddy puddle I just stood in has left.

Raincoat, jogging bottoms and Converse?  My current uniform. It's official, I'm a Mama.

Oh, and don't forget the giveaways!

    1. Brilliant! I only plucked one eyebrow about a month ago, got distracted and forgot about the other one for 4 days. Always a good luck. Thankfully I've never worn make-up so that's one thing I don't have to think about. Although maybe I should now, to cover these black bags under my eyes... xx

  3. Oh Nell, I feel your pain. This rain is relentless. I'm back in Bath this week and just struggled home from work pushing Bertie in his buggy loaded with shopping, trying my hardest to juggle an umbrella but gave up and got wet instead. I'm away again quite a bit over the next four weeks but let's meet up soon. Thursdays are good for me at the mo. Amy x

  7. oh yes. now you've really hit your stride! trying to push a buggy up the hill while holding an umbrella is just ridiculous. it was torrential today, i just gave up. came home a soggy mess. x

  8. Haha, I like this one! There is a very definitive "Mama uniform" isn't there. And funnily enough, I also have a pair of battered old cons that I just love traipsing around in, so comfortable.

  12. I think there's a gap in the market to bring back housecoats. I've lost track of the number of times a toddler's loomed towards me with a snotty face or yoghurty hands - imagine just being able to whip off a housecoat and be all pristine and dry-clean-only underneath.

I'm taking my idea to Dragon's Den...

  13. Similar 'uniform' around these parts too - and I agree, something to hide all those grotty bub stains is a must! :)
